User-centred design management If you are planning to establish user-centred design processes in your organization, we can advise you how to go about it taking into account your specific business needs. We can help you to identify changes in organizational structure, internal processes and management strategies needed to ensure successful buy-in and adoption of user-centred design activities across the organization. If you're planning to hire your own human factors engineer or build up your own team of local usability experts, we can help you to define the job scope and responsibilities for ad placements, help you to shortlist, interview and assess candidates. If you're planning to set up your own usability lab, we can also advise you on room layout, required facilities and equipment configuration.

Training and education Very often, good design is the result of the combined skills & teamwork of members of your design team. A key factor in successful user-centred design is to educate members of your design team, especially those involved in designing any aspect of the hardware or software user interface, about the principles behind good human factors design. Even if you do not have your own local usability or human factors experts, a knowledge of such design principles will go a long way in ensuring that even your first-pass design is of a certain level of usability. Your design team will avoid making common design mistakes and will also learn how to build more flexibility into their initial design to accommodate changes arising from usability reviews or user tests. We can run lectures, workshops and courses on general human factors design principles as well as various other topics related to user-centred design. However, to be effective, we usually prefer to tailor the courses to be more relevant to your specific business needs. To do this, we need sufficient advance notice so we have time to understand your products, systems and solutions.
